🫧 Portland Pops Orlando’s Unbeaten Bubble
The Orlando Pride's perfect season has finally met its match! 🌩️ The Pride’s bid to become the first-ever unbeaten NWSL team crumbled with a 2-0 defeat to Portland Thorns. Morgan Weaver opened the scoring with a precise shot, and legend Christine Sinclair hammered in a second goal for her 78th NWSL career tally—just two games before her retirement. Orlando, now 17-1-6, still clinched the NWSL Shield and heads into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed.

⚽️ Dunn It All
Gif by nwsl on Giphy
Crystal Dunn's journey in soccer is nothing short of inspiring. A World Cup winner, Olympian, and champion on both sides of the Atlantic, Dunn opened up about the challenges of being a Black woman in a sport historically dominated by white players. Honored by Black Players for Change, she reflected on her role in diversifying the game and the importance of representation. Dunn shared the personal struggles she faced, from navigating team dynamics to the pressures of how she looked on the field. Now, she's more focused on leaving soccer in a better place than when she found it, inspiring future generations of players of color to embrace the game unapologetically.
WSL NEWS
🌧️ Gunners’ Gloom
Arsenal’s season has taken a dramatic turn, and not in the way Gunners fans were hoping for. After a lackluster goalless draw with Everton and a shocking 5-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the stakes couldn't be higher heading into their clash against Chelsea. Unfortunately, the much-anticipated London derby ended in a 2-1 defeat for Arsenal, leaving manager Jonas Eidevall facing the heat.
The Gunners fell victim to a couple of defensive blunders as Mayra Ramírez opened the scoring with an audacious overhead kick, followed by Sandy Baltimore's unmarked header to double Chelsea’s lead. Though Caitlin Foord found the net just before halftime, it wasn't enough to spark a comeback, as Chelsea expertly managed the game to secure the win.
With just one victory in their opening four WSL matches, the pressure is mounting on Arsenal to rediscover their form. Defender Laia Codina remains hopeful, asserting that the team has the talent to turn things around. However, after such a disheartening result, Arsenal fans are left wondering if the Gunners can regroup or if they are in for a long, tough season ahead.

🌟 The Graham Show
Duke's women's soccer team proved their No. 1 ranking is no fluke, demolishing No. 7 Stanford 4-1 in a historic ACC clash. 🏆🎉 Maggie Graham was the star of the night, netting a hat trick and bringing her season total to eight goals—talk about a way to make an entrance! Duke's potent offense showcased their speed and precision, while Stanford's usually reliable defense crumbled like a cookie in a milk dunk. With this win, the Blue Devils extended their winning streak to ten games and left Stanford's 34-game home unbeaten record in the dust. Next up, they’ll look to keep the momentum going against No. 17 Cal! ⚽
